How did you get involved in STEM?
My first brush with STEM was in middle school when I started participating in math competitions. I didn't realize how interested I was in math and these competitions truly gave me a new perspective. Later on, in middle school, I participated in a cybersecurity competition called CyberPatriot (which is the Air Force Association's National Youth Cyber Defense Competition). This is when my interest in STEM skyrocketed. I started doing my own research about pursuing STEM careers and I realized how this future definitely seemed like a possibility. Since then, I have been finding every opportunity to get more involved in STEM, and as they say - the rest is history!
Why did you join Reinvented Magazine?
There are so many reasons that I joined Reinvented! I love how Reinvented continues to build an empowering community and inspire others to reinvent the field of STEM. Additionally, the team at Reinvented shares a bond unlike any other, where everyone is super motivating, encouraging, and always ready to help. It really means a lot when others appreciate what you do and inspires you to keep growing!
Who is your favorite female STEM role model?
There are so many females in STEM that have inspired me but one of my greatest women in STEM role models is Reshma Saujani, Founder and CEO of Girls Who Code.
Do you have any hobbies outside of Reinvented?
Outside of Reinvented, I play piano, soccer, and I swim! I love to travel to new places, try new things, taste new foods, and be outside at any time that I can!
What is your favorite quote?
“Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon" -Paul Brandt
This quote is very close to my heart and every time that I read it, I feel inspired and ready to do things that matter to me so that I can make an impact on this world!
